创客文化与开源文化在本次国内首届创客交流活动中被首次推到公众面前。创客不分行业或科技含量高低，只要“想法当实现”的都是创客。从鲁班、达芬奇到乔布斯，创客自古就存在。与古代创客不同，当代创客依托网络与线下分享文化的蓬勃，从单一行业到多行业、跨行业，从古代个人创新演进到当代集体创新。创客文化中的多元与分享使其极具包容性和亲和力，能让更多人参与进来。
The culture of maker and open source is introduced to the public for the very first time in this first domestic maker exchange event. Regardless of fields or technology content, anyone thinking "ideas should be implemented" is a maker. From Luban, Leonardo da Vinci to Steve Jobs, makers have existed since ancient times. Unlike the ancient makers, contemporary makers rely on the network and off-line sharing culture boom and innovate, from a single industry to multi-industry and cross-industry, from the ancient personal innovation to the contemporary group innovation. The diversity and share of makers’ culture makes it extremely inclusive and affine to allow more people get involved.
而这里说的“开源”，始于 IT 界的“开放源代码”，是开放式知识产权的体现。“开源”的开放式平台使创客们相互站在对方的肩膀上，极大地促进创新的速度与广度。“开源”打破独赢的狭隘，走向多赢，“开源”是建立未来竞争优势的基础。

With the participation of makers and open source,the threshold of mass innovation will be lower greatly.Social innovation will be upgraded as mass innovation popularizes. Thus the first interchange event of makers is not only a big party for domestic and overseas makers, but also has a great and long public significance.I hope it can get the attentionand support from the community and keeps growing. The spirit of the maker should be an integral part of the social spirit, the city spirit and the national spirit.
